Winter Storm Warning
Issued by the National Weather Service at 3:50 PM MST on January 6, 2009


... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 PM MST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 6 PM MST
Wednesday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

Snow will intensify this evening... possibly becoming heavy at
times... and continuing through Wednesday afternoon. Total snow
accumulations are expected to range from 5 to 9 inches with local
amounts up to 12 inches possible in the northern sections of
Jackson Hole... impacting highways 26 and 191 between Moran
Junction and Jackson. Teton and togwotee passes will also be
impacted. South to southwest wind will produce some blowing and
drifting snow along with localized whiteout conditions. Be sure to
check Road conditions by dialing 5 1 1 before traveling.

Remember... a Winter Storm Warning means severe winter weather
conditions are imminent or highly likely.
