High Surf Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 5:06 PM PST on March 11, 2010

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 10 am PST Friday...

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 10 am PST Friday for
the north and central Washington coast.

Large swells of 20 to 24 feet will continue to affect the
coastline from now through Friday morning. Waves will slowly
subside below 20 feet Friday afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion. It is extremely dangerous to fish or observe waves from
rocks during high surf conditions. Unwary beach walkers can be
caught off guard as waves suddenly race farther up the beach than
normal.
