High Wind Watch
Issued by the National Weather Service at 2:42 PM MST on January 6, 2009

... High wind watch remains in effect from late tonight through
Wednesday evening...

A high wind watch remains in effect from late tonight through
Wednesday evening.

Strong winds are expected to develop over the mountains late
tonight and continue though Wednesday. Gusts up to 60 mph are
possible with locally poor visibilities due to blowing and drifting
snow. Over the plains winds will not be as strong with speeds of
20 to 30 mph and gusts to 45 mph developing by noon Wednesday.
Winds will begin to diminish Wednesday evening.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.
